King's Day in Amsterdam is a day of orange facades, boats with music, people waving from the bridges, and streets bursting at the seams. It is beautiful to experience from the shore — but from the water, you experience it differently. You sail right into the middle of the festivities, but with a fixed spot, your own company, and onboard service. No crowding on the bridges, no queues for terraces.

Music on all boats

King's Day is an exception: on this day, music may be played on all our boats, including the open sloops. Our vessels are all equipped with a sound system; on the Vastberaden and the Halve Maen, we can provide a DJ upon request.

Catering by arrangement

Many of our catering partners have adjusted opening hours on King's Day. We therefore tailor the catering offer to you per booking. Popular choices include fresh sandwiches, snack boards, and charcuterie from Vincent, or pizza fresh from the stone oven at De Pizzabakkers.

Route and boarding

Different sailing routes apply on King's Day, and some of the canals are one-way. Our skippers have been sailing on this day for years and know which canals are best at which time. Due to the crowds, not all jetties are easily accessible; we will coordinate your boarding and disembarking locations with you in advance.
