Official wedding venue

Salon boat Halve Maen is recognised by the City of Amsterdam as an official wedding venue. You can hold the ceremony on board, followed by the reception or celebration on the same boat — or design a combination that suits your day. The salon boat seats up to 66 people for a reception or celebration, and up to 30 people for a seated dinner with chef.

Pick-up at the city hall

A popular option: you hold the ceremony at the city hall, and we pick you and your guests up from the water afterwards. We then cruise you around the city while you celebrate the moment with champagne, canapés and music — before mooring at the restaurant of your choice for dinner. Suitable for all three of our boats, depending on group size.

Catering, cake and decoration

We handle the full programme on board: from canapés, a walking dinner or a seated dinner with chef to a wedding cake from an Amsterdam patissier. Decoration — balloons, flowers, personalised details — we arrange in consultation. For singers, DJs or live musicians we have a trusted network we are happy to advise on.

Our champagne list

We carry the most extensive champagne list of any Amsterdam boat company — over 30 different cuvées, in bottles from 0.75 to 3 litres. The focus is on smaller, artisanal houses and récoltant-manipulants — such as Francis Orban, Brice, André Jacquart, Eric Rodez and Doyard — complemented by the classic grandes maisons such as Laurent-Perrier, Veuve Clicquot, Bollinger, Ruinart, Krug, Dom Pérignon and Cristal. For toasting the most important moment of your day, in any style and price range.

Boarding and disembarking throughout Amsterdam

We pick you up and drop you off at virtually any official boarding pier in Amsterdam — at the city hall, a hotel, the restaurant for your dinner, or close to the celebration venue. An overview can be found on our Boarding locations page.

Which boats are available

• Prince of New Amsterdam (max 12 people) — for an intimate cruise after the ceremony or a small group we pick up at the city hall.
• Vastberaden (max 32 people) — for a festive cruise after the ceremony, possibly on the way to the restaurant
• Halve Maen (max 66 people) — official wedding venue, suitable for the ceremony, reception and celebration on board; seated dinner up to 30 people
