The Prince of New Amsterdam offers an intimate and comfortable cruising experience for small groups of up to 12 people. She is a riveted steel sloop from 1946, with wooden interior trim, her own bar and toilet on board — giving the boat a chic, intimate atmosphere. In fair weather we sail open; in poor weather and in winter the sloop is covered with a wooden superstructure with glass windows, creating a salon-boat-like atmosphere. She is also our dedicated boat for the exclusive running dinner.

The Prince of New Amsterdam is a riveted steel sloop, built in 1946 by the Lane Lifeboat & Davit Corporation in New York. Originally she sailed under the name Prince of Whales — a past preserved in her current name, a nod to the fact that New York was once called New Amsterdam. The original maker's plate is still on board. We bought the boat in 2017 and over the following years restored her entirely in-house: from the bare hull to the last detail of the finish. In June 2023 she made her debut on the Amsterdam canals, fitted with a 100% electric drive. On board The Prince accommodates a maximum of 12 people and is fully finished inside with warm wood. On board there is a private cocktail bar, a toilet and comfortable cushions — which are heated in winter. In fair weather we sail open; in rain or winter the sloop is covered with a wooden superstructure with glass windows, creating a salon-boat-like atmosphere. For which occasions With her intimate proportions and chic appearance, the Prince of New Amsterdam is a popular choice for marriage proposals, anniversaries, corporate outings, client meetings and small festive cruises. She is also our dedicated boat for the running dinner: a private dining cruise during which we sail you past several Amsterdam restaurants, serving a course on board at each stop.
